As a non-profit, student-run society, the CU Ballet Club relies entirely on membership fees, class fees, performance revenues, and donations to sustain our operations of daily classes, social events, and annual productions. With the mission of simultaneously promoting inclusivity and professionalism, your generous support will help enormously with our efforts of keeping classes affordable while providing the best quality of teaching, performance, and dance experience for members and the Cambridge community.

The Cambridge University
Ballet Club

The CU Ballet Club is the only ballet-focused student society at the University of Cambridge. We are a large and vibrant society offering a range of classes to students and non-students in a variety of locations across Cambridge, seven days a week. We organise master workshops and produce multiple performances each year. We regularly collaborate with other prominent groups such as the Cambridge Graduate Orchestra and the Cambridge University Philharmonic Orchestra, and we have previous performed at high-profile Cambridge events, such as Kings Affair, Jesus May Ball, and Sidney Sussex Arts Festival, in addition to our annual performance at the West Road Concert Hall. The CU Ballet Club also has an international partnership with the Havard Ballet Company.

The mission of the CU Ballet Club is to promote the art of ballet at Cambridge and beyond by challenging its traditional exclusivity. We aim to increase accessibility to the art form by providing classes, events and performances frequently and at affordable rates. 

Donations allow us to:

  • Maintain the quality and affordability of classes:

    • Your financial support would be put towards the payment of our professional teachers

    • Rentals of limited practice spaces in Cambridge, where room hires are costly

    • Help us bring in guest artists and run master workshops

    • Allow us to subsidise the cost of classes so prices remain affordable for all

  • Produce the best performances we can:

    • Theatre rentals, rehearsal spaces, sets and props, lighting and sound, costumes, transportation and other logistics all inflict high costs, and we are always dedicated to producing the best possible effect for every aspect of our performance.

All donors will be recognised on our website and performance programmes, and individual benefactors of £100+ will receive two complimentary tickets to our annual performance.
