The Ballet Club is very please to announce that we will be performing Tchaikovsky's SWAN LAKE at West Road Concert Hall, 2nd-3rd March 2018. One of the most popular ballets of all time, Swan Lake tells the story of the beautiful princess Odette who is turned into a swan by the evil sorcerer Rothbart’s wicked curse, so strong it can only be broken by the power of true love. Over 100 dancers from the Cambridge University Ballet Club are coming together to choreograph and perform this four-part ballet. It will be an unforgettable experience!
If you are interested in doing ballet during your time at Cambridge, then the Ballet Club has something to offer you. Society classes are open to students and members of the public, and run during full term. You don't have to book or pay in advance - just turn up to any class!
Whether you are a complete beginner or if you have had a professional dance career, we offer classes, workshops and performance opportunities that you can get involved in. The highlight of each year is our Lent term production, where we adapt a full-length ballet to be performed by the whole Ballet Club. Have a look at our gallery to see photos of our dancers in action.
In addition to weekly classes we run a range of social events, from informal drinks gatherings and meals, to screenings of ballet-themed films, and a May Week garden party. These are great ways to get to know your fellow dancers and meet people from a diverse range of backgrounds!
