Nutcracker

In November 2015 the Cambridge University Ballet Club were delighted to be invited to dance at the Cambridge University Philharmonic Orchestra's annual gala in Wesley Methodist Church. Soloists performed pieces to the Nutcracker waltz, the Chinese Dance, the Dance of the Mirlitons, and the iconic Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. The dancers adapted well to the challenges of working with a live orchestra in an unusual performance space, and it was very rewarding to collaborate with the orchestra. With mince pies and mulled wine served afterwards, it really was a very festive occasion! Both dancers and audience had a great night, and the Ballet Club are looking forward to many more performances with Cambridge orchestras in the future.
