About the teacher Karis Scarlette began ballet classes aged just two. By the age of six she was chosen to take part in the Royal Opera House’s Chance to Dance program and began attending weekly ballet lessons under the direction of Royal Ballet dancers and teachers where she excelled in creative workshops and performance. By age seven, Karis was a Royal Ballet School Junior Associate and quickly progressed into the Royal Ballet School itself. During her training, Karis performed extensively with the Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and English National Ballet. Her first performance on a major stage was with The Royal Ballet in The Tales Of Beatrix Potter, choreographed by Sir Fredrick Ashton, in which she danced the role of a baby mouse aged just 9! A troublesome injury sadly brought an end to Karis’ main stage career however during her rehabilitation she rediscovered how positive self-expression was crucial to her recovery. She channeled this into a passion for teaching others. In 2011, Karis received her teacher training qualification from the Royal Ballet School and Royal Opera House and is based in London but also teaches ballet around the world. Regarded as one of the 'go to' ballet teachers in London, Karis's clients range from complete beginners to world renowned professional dancers, actors, singers and European Royal Family members. About the class The class will begin from barre warm up followed by Sugar Plum Fairy variation from the Nutcracker. Come join us and enjoy this unique experience of dancing like Royal Ballet. This class is open to all levels but attendees must have some prior ballet experience.
